Cole has recommended that Peter come to the island to soak in the pond, carry the ancestor rock, and maybe even see the Spirit Bear. Peter is very reluctant to come and after a month of being on the island he is finally speaking to Cole, even participating the soaks and rolling the rock. I think it is interesting that he is being mean to Cole by throwing a rock at him and also by pushing him in the stream. I think this my be Peters way of gaining power over someone who has filled him with so much fear. At the end of chapter 26 Peter finally invites Cole to join he and Garvey in the cabin. Will Peter be able to forgive Cole? Will Peter ever see the Spirit Bear? If so, what will have to happen between the boys before the Spirit Bear will reveal himself to them?

It's just starting to seem like Peter is beginning to care about life again, I hope he doesn't try to commit suicide again. I want the book to end without death.
